Mono Sound Recording
« on: October 24, 2013, 06:47:43 PM »
I am slightly puzzled by the sound recording cable.  It appears that a stereo cable is suggested with two 1K resistors to mix the sound, but why not just use a mono cable and if I do so then should I still use a resistor and if so does anybody have any idea what value?

Thanks for any info.

Some stereo sounds will not sound correct if they are not mixed to mono.  Obviously you can do that in software (if you have an editing program).  If your sounds are all mono, then using a mono cable would be fine.
