Copyright of Standard Sounds
« on: June 24, 2013, 10:13:39 AM »
I was wondering who holds the copyright for the standard set of sound effects that can be downloaded from the website?

You are free to use any of the sound effects.  (If you have better ones, please share them here.)

In your opinion Jim, would recordings of actual gunfire work, for example, a gun range, or would there be too much distortion?

I have not tried to record any sounds myself, other than the "voice commands" (my daughter's voice).  Usually I start with a sound effect and use GoldWave to edit it and/or change it using various effects.

You really just have to experiment, because what sounds good in headphones, or on your PC speakers, might sound much better or much worse on the tagger.  (Also in the old days, it was fairly easy to extract sound effects from PC games, etc)
