Firmware Domination V3
« on: December 09, 2013, 10:36:46 PM »
With the new Dom V3 Firmware, the DIP switches are no longer active.  Modes and time limits are programmed via the Referee Gun on a tagger with firmware CORE V5.50 or V6.XX.  No modifications required to the Domination Module, just replace the processor (or re-flash it if you have a PIC programmer).

Overall Game Time is programmable in 1 minute increments.

Mode 1 = Domination Mode (1 to 40 minutes)
Mode 2 = Domination Mode (1 to 40 minutes) - Requires TWO players to capture.
Mode 1 & 2: The winner controls the Domination Point for more than 1/2 time limit

Mode 3 = End Win Mode (1 to 40 minutes)
Mode 4 = End Win Mode (1 to 40 minutes) - Requires TWO players to capture.
Mode 3 & 4: The winner is the team that controls the Domination Point AT the END of time limit

Mode 5 = Team Marker Only (No Time Limit)
Mode 6 = Team Marker Only (No Time Limit) - Requires TWO players to capture.
Mode 5 & 6: Endless capture mode.

In the case of Modes 2/4/6, the Domination Point is only captured after TWO players shoot the sensor.  So if the Domination Point is BLUE, then it will have to be hit by TWO different Red players to change it to Red.  If it was only hit by ONE Red player, then a Blue Player can "block" the capture by shooting the sensor - and it once again requires TWO players from Red team.

So you must have TWO CONSECUTIVE players from the attacking team to capture.

For Modes 1/3/5 the Domination Point is captured when the sensor is hit by ANY ONE player.

I should acknowledge that the "2-Player Capture" was suggested by member Wargamesatl.  The ability to "block" the second hit was suggested by our friend in Aachen, Germany.

Awesome idea. Can that still be done using an Adv Sports ref tagger? I don't want to flash my PIC if it isn't going to work.
