You cannot drive a solenoid from the LED output directly. There us not enough current and the
back EMF from the coil  will destroy the MOSFET. It needs another MOSFET or transistor to do this.
I will see if I can do a circuit for you.

hey berk,

can you help me with a circuit where i can use a separate battery to drive the solenoid? the solenoid i am using needs around 18-24 volts to actually give feedback..

heres one i used to control the solenoid with arduino ..


as can be seen, we got 1 coming from the ground and other to the pin 9 of the arduino ... how can we modify this to work with the milestag board?

EDIT :- managed to link it to milestag... connected to muzzle led... the solenoid is triggering on fire..
now comes the task of mounting the solenoid so as to get maximum feedback...
