I am not sure if this is the place for my problem but:

I have upgraded my Firmware to V31 and use the the V31 Editor. Everything worked fine with Windows 8.1

My problem is this I have a number of Taggers with the Old style SparkFun LED Dispaly and am having no issues with these setups.

However, If I try to use the latest style SparkFun LED Display, the Taggers come up with the Display in Dimmest Brightness.

I have tested the latest Display using Python via a Acroname S27-USB-SERIAL adapter and I can change the Brightness to various levels and display all characters. The Display stores the level and on next power up will remember the last 0x7A command setting, 0x 00 - FF. When I take the display that repeatedly works and connect it into the uMT system it goes right to Minimum Brightness! I have tried this with (5) Display and (5) Taggers.

I see that this was a problem with earlier levels of Firmware and I have tried V24 with V23 Editor and get the same results.

FTroopShootist,  spark fun changed the firmware on the newer displays so the coding is reversed now. Jim is correcting the firmware for the micro boards and should be pushing that build as you see this. So look for the new firmware.

You can go on pbp.com or micro labs and buy a pic burner. Then you can take hex files and burn to chips. Might be a good thing to look into. One that covers 12, 16 and 18 series chips.

I only need the uMT configuration app so I can control my tagger settings, do I really need the hex editor?
