MilesTag CORE / Blank sound chip
« on: January 04, 2014, 01:13:39 AM »
Hey guys,

Just a quick question - will a MT core function with a blank sound chip? i.e. brand new chip inserted in the PCB, no sounds saved to it yet?

Asking as I'm testing a new gun and its performing really strangely so far - The timer doesn't seem to count, reloading takes forever, can't shoot, etc.

Cheers,
Simon

MilesTag CORE / PIC18F2525 programming help
« on: December 21, 2013, 03:02:54 AM »
Hi,

If someone could please give me a hand to get this IC programming thing sorted out, I'd be really grateful.

I've recently purchased a PICkit 3, with a universal adapter board, but I can't get the mplab programmer software to recognise the PIC18F2525.
I suspect its probably the wiring. I went with the wiring that seemed logical to me, based on the PICkit 3 pinout diagram, and the pin diagram for the PIC18F2525, but hey, I've probably got it completely wrong.

The attachments show the pin diagrams for the pickit 3 and the IC.

Here's how I'm currently connecting the chip:

220
38
428
527
626

Any help would be great, cheers.

MilesTag Micro (uMT) / uMT issues outdoors
« on: May 15, 2013, 04:59:11 AM »
Hi All,

I'm having a really frustrating problem with my newly constructed uMT based guns. Put simply they don't work in any kind of sunlight.

I initially tested them in an underground car park, where I was easily getting 60+ metres of range. Keeping everything exactly the same and trying them outisde though, I have about 3 metres.

I don't believe its my optic setup as I have done a number of tests and the focus appears to be pretty well spot on. I'm really at a loss as to what is going on.

I'm using pre-assembled uMT boards from the milestag store, and head sensors constructed from parts from the online store.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what the problem might be? Any help would be much appreciated.
