Your project looks great, but I have some questions. First of all, videos are not working, can you upload them to youtube for example?

On the schematic I don't see reload button.

Why there is a 5 button joystick? Is there a need for so much buttons?

What type of lcd you're using? And what is it showing?

I don's see any stabilizer, you use 5V supply?

con2 is a connector for sensors?

What protocol are you using?

Release 1 and Release 2 does not have a voltage regulator.
I have to be powered by batteries - or from 4.8 V () or from 6 V 2 diodes (not Schottky).
The third release is DC / DC converter.

How it works - well seen here.
When the voltage is reduced current consumption.

The board has 14 universal ports that can be connected or buttons, or LEDs -it all depends on the purpose of your project.
There SPI interface - through it you can program the controller, and you can also connect a variety of devices, such as - the LCD screen.
HD44780 LCD on any compatible chip.
The LCD displays the "health", the number of bullets in the clip, the number of clips.
Battery status.
If it affects the player has got displays  player ID, the ID of his team and the damage that it caused us.
Working TouchMemory key reader.
Have control of the battery (Displayed on the screen or as an icon, or absolute value in volts).
Reload is. Switching the mode of fire is (burst or single).
I also write a program configurator on Qt, which allows you to record sounds (they are stored in an external EEPROM chip) and make adjustments through COM-port.
The firmware can be changed through the bootloader on COM-port.
I use Miles tag 2, of course! :D
Already designed circuit board measuring 30x70 mm.
A lot of plans - not enough time! :( :)

Why does the video not working?
No access?
Proxy did not try?
Try refreshing the page or sometimes helps.

Ok, I watched your videos, but there are 2 problems. First you're using russian, what I don't understand, and second videos are not enought sharp, so I don't see what you're doing on your screen.

I'm going to build 2 boards from relase 2 to do some test and maybe play, but I still don't understand some things.

What connector is for a sensors, and what type of sensors you are using?

Can it work without touchMemory? I don't need this.

Tda7267 is amplifier, but where are storage sounds in relase 2? In Atmega?

Where I can download pc software to configure?

Sorry for the poor quality of the video - I do not have a good camera, filmed on photo-camera. Took pictures for friends from the forum www.open-tag.ru, so speak Russian.
I think my English is not much clearer!  ;D
The time will take - I will make a new video, on  english, on a normal camera.

Take your time, is ready for the third release (the video is just one) - maybe you it will be more interesting.
After the holidays, I'll put it in the repository.

Standard sensors - signal from TSOP, +5 V, LED, GND

Quote

of course

Quote

The second release - yes, in the program memory.
The third release - in the external eeprom 24LC512 (64 kB - 8 seconds of sound), with the ability to change the sound of a COM-port as shown in the video.
Quote
Where I can download pc software to configure?

Program (for the third release, in the second - not rs232 port), of course, still not completed, with bugs, but the basic functionality is working.
I'll give you a link to download.

I'm on the holidays too, so I'm gonna start in next week :) And I need to order some parts.

But i prefer relase 2, without external memory chip it will be cheaper, I don't need very realistic sounds. Second reason is that I don't feel ready to solder smd atmega, I don't have smd soldering skills, I prefer tht.

At the moment I'm looking at your code to understand how all works :)

Firmware is also not ideal.
I'm not a programmer. :(
But, most importantly, it works. :D
If anyone can improve it - I'd be grateful!Good luck with the new year! :D

What don't work?
Everything works.
But when one guy brought the third release and could not buy crystal 16 MHz and set at 8 MHz - began problem. Lack of resources does not have time to work on reception interrupt character in UART.
This is probably due to the fact that to generate the carrier IR signal, as well as measuring the duration of the received signal is used to interrupt timer2, and it works all the time.
I now want to interrupt work only when transmitting IR package and at the time of admission, and the rest were disabled.
The first release of the 7 MHz could work.

I will shortly receive the printed-circuit boards developed for work about a bluetooth module, 29x54 mm in size.  ;)

are you going to use bluetooth to connect sensor with main board?
Certainly! As soon as modules will appear at me available!
The printed-circuit boards developed for work together with a bluetooth by the module are already ordered in production and the bill is paid.
The problem - to find modules, from China very long go - 3 month.

Today I powered the "Ascetic" through StepUp DC/DC the converter from one LiFePo4 600 maH of the accumulator, of the size of the AA battery - works.
Efficiency of the converter - 73%.
It isn't a lot of, of course, but at linear stabilizers isn't higher.
If to turn out - I will make sepic DC/DC which will work from 3 to 30 Volt.  ;) :D

Is your system fully compatible with miles tag 2 protocol ? I mean you can see who shoot you, same damage, control via refree gun, scores etc? In other words: is it possible to have different taggers in one team/club and feel NO difference and NO problems during the game?
keep posting your progress :)

Thanks! :)
"Shot" completely corresponds to the protocol.
Thank God, it is open!   ;D
While only shot.
The identifier of the player, color of the team, a caused damage - everything is adjusted either by means of LCD, or by means of the computer through RS-232 port.
Sounds change as through RS-232 port.
Unfortunately, with other systems while it wasn't succeeded to play. :(
But I plan to make both statistics, and the panel, and a bluetooth communication (with a bandage and with the computer), and other...
Today I experimented StepUP DC/DC.
I powered "Ascetic" from one LiFePO4 of the battery and from two AA batteries.

You mean - completely assembled blaster?
Will have a little bit to wait - not all components are available, it is necessary to order.  :(
And as the printed-circuit board works - I already spread the link one video higher.

Are you going to make separate bluetooth module for wireless comunication between tagger and sensors? ? I quess many people would be interested in adding this to their taggers runing with MilesTag :)

Yes, of course, these printed-circuit boards just also are intended for work about a bluetooth by the module.
It is possible to use already ready PCB under the module
(http://i01.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/540339991/wholesale-font-b-HC-b-font-font-b-05-b-font-font-b-HC-b-font.jpg)
The module I plan to use to HC-05, or a linking of HC-06 - HC-05
(http://i00.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/584784300/100PCS-LOT-font-b-hc-b-font-font-b-05-b-font-font-b-HC-b.jpg)

And if you speak about the universal module - for any blaster on Miles?
I too thought of it.
Such too it is possible.

I thought about additional module for MilesTag system to make it wireless (between tagger and sensors). Something like phoenix bluetooth wireless module, but its a bit expensive - about 50 $

I got it.
I thought about such, to make really.
Technical problems I don't see.
And what price would suit you?
Two modules and two controlers at least are necessary.

I tested the modernized printed-circuit board of the third release (blue a board) for the period of continuous work without recharge.
In a "quiet" mode (shots 10-15 at an o'clock) with 4 included light-emitting diodes the device worked from one lithium accumulator with a declared capacity of 2000 мАч 28 hours 30 minutes.

Community project "LTAscet" continues to develop new options for printed circuit boards in multiple form factors - for every taste.
Someone needs simplicity and manufacturability, who is compact in size

Dimensions of this board 17x42 mm.

The third release of the project is recognized as a very successful community in relation price / functionality (which is not yet fully open).

Unfortunately not.
While I can only give this video.
Then I upload the bootloader into the controller, and then upload the firmware via the bootloader,  upload sound with the program's  "Аscet-configurator" and demonstrates the operation of the scheme.

Online Statistics are thinking about, maybe the fourth release will do.
But it is on the radio modules and the radius is not great - 50-100 meters.

Does anyone familiar with the chip HT4906?
Used in board mitsroduino BM.

No information! I can not find it!
It kind of "hotchip" written.
Very interesting chip - and charges the lithium and works as a Step UP converter.
Help me find the information!

How to program in C
Take your favorite IDE
Maybe Kate, Emacs, mc
On the first line simply put s.t.d.i.o. include
Write main typed void in front
That's the program's entry point
Open brace and write the printf
And then everything you think
Often people write hello, world
Don't limit yourself, type more
Close brace then compile and run
Check the output, have some fun
Helped this checklist a lot?
Got excited?
I have not.

Thanks!
In fact, it is not difficult.
Even without knowing JAVA can "build" application using app inventor.
But the plans are much more than just a configurator.
I want the creation of laser tag system for Android.
There is no knowledge of JAVA can not do.
Need help!

Briefly describe:
Tag (or multiple tags) and sensors (several sensors, if necessary) to connect to your phone on Android by bluetooth .
The smartphone is mounted on the wrist.
The screen displays all the game options (bullets, clips, life, battery status).
All game events are sent to the server (local or global) on WiFi or GPRS.
And the feedback is.
Will be getting confirmation, online statistics, maps with markers players.
This will give further variety to the game.
All this can be done on the basis of electronics "Ascet" and affordable smartphone.
But need to write a program for Android.
Who can - help!

P..S Today turned out to establish a connection between smartphone and Programm-server on the computer.

This is my program to configure an open-hardware project "Ascet", and not only.

Wanted to make a universal, so the names of the parameters and commands for their reading and writing are read directly from the device.
Therefore, even if I add new parameters or delete existing ones, rewritten conftgurator not required.

New firmware for "Ascet"
http://github.com/PingvinOpenTag/LTAscetic/tree/master/experimental_and_test_firmware/for_release_3_1/LTAscetic_new_play_sound_algoritm_bluetooth_IRF0_switch_LCD8x2

In this version of the firmware, there are important changes and additions.

Firmware can work with both wired bandanna, so it is with wireless Bluetooth bandana, and at the same time with two bandanas (bluetooth and wired).
Anticheat controls both zones, therefore,

IMPORTANT !!!
If you plan to use only wired bandanna, it is necessary to conclude pin STATE on the Bluetooth-connector to connect through a resistor 270K to ground.
Otherwise anticheat will not work correctly!
If you are difficult to solder a resistor, there is another way - correct file isr.с : in function ISR(TIMER1_COMPA_vect) {...} get the line to read

if ((! (TSOP_IN & TSOP_PIN)) && (! (BT_STATE_IN & BT_STATE_PIN))) // if the input INT0 low level and there is no Bluetooth connection

and correct it so

if ((! (TSOP_IN & TSOP_PIN)) / * && (! (BT_STATE_IN & BT_STATE_PIN)) * /) // if the input INT0 low level

Rebuild the project.
The new firmware file with the extension .hex will be in a subdirectory "defalt" of the project directory.

Rewritten algorithm play audio files.
In this firmware sound files are reproduced through the interruption, and not in the main program loop.
Therefore, the main loop of the program keeps track of game events at the time, when you hear the sound.
Therefore, it became possible to process all the hits, that happened during playback  "injured sound".
But to give the player a chance to survive when he is being fired gunfire, put such a thing as "time invulnerability."
During this time, after the hit, the player invulnerable, all hit ignored.
Duration of invulnerability is adjustable from 0.5 seconds to 3 seconds.

In the settings now made and the carrier frequency of the IR signal - 36 or 56 kHz.

You can also adjust the rate when shooting in auto mode.

Firmware understands the IR RC command "Start Game" and "kill the player" and commands to change the colors of the team.
You can use the remote control "ascet-pult".
http://github.com/PingvinOpenTag/LTAscetic/tree/master/Ascet_pult_3_1
But before using it must be initialized after the firmware download.
Command to initialize on the menu.

Not yet implemented all of the planned course.
Printed circuit boards can be ordered from http://pselectro.ru
Order numbers here https://yadi.sk/d/IYyU1uvHTfQEp

In LCD-module and bluetooth-module has an error - not connected leg power, easy to handle.
In the repository are gerberas files already corrected.

Minimum order - one technological harvesting - 48 pieces.
Until the collapse of the ruble value of one printed circuit board costs about $ 1
You can also order a partially assembled boards - with soldered small elements (without chips, transistors and diodes).
These boards have the cost of about $ 4-5

But it is necessary to specify, as the dollar has doubled.

Hi Pingvin, I'm Theuer from Brazil.  :)
I follow your work since 2012, and now I chose to replace my old MicroMT (MilesTag). But...

I have some really big doubts:

1- Your firmare for ASCETIC3.1 can make a score? If it don't, do you think the hardware could support this feature?(if I write a code for it)

2- Which of your fantastic boards should I use??? :) I'm ready to buy two ATmega32a (not smd) this week to begin assembly the system on the breadboard, but this new ARMADA system looks like amazing and a new "next step" for Laser Tag game! What should I do?  ;D

  Thank you so much.
This is my disassembled, old, crap, first and cool :P system based on MicroMT:
 Cheers

I did not understand (maybe because of the difficulties of translation) - does that mean "make a score"?
Collect statistics?
No, not yet implemented, but the plans necessary.

If you want a wireless kit to collect the version 3.1, which can work with the Bluetooth module. Just Bluetooth allows you to manage tag from smartphone. As well as working with Android laser tag system (with connection to the server of the local and global).

If you do not need wireless - you can build a version 3.0

Printed circuit boards for Armada difficult to make at home, but if you are not afraid of difficulties - I can send printed circuit board manufacturing. However, the firmware for the Armada still in development.

 Hi, thanks for the answer.
You're right, when I said "Score", I mean something like "score board" "Final Statistics".

Do you think the hardware 3.1 can handle the implementation of a code to generate a score?
I really want this feature. That's why I'm dropping the MicroMT.

You seems focused at ARMada project, do you still develop Ascetic?

It would be very nice to have printed circuit board of ARMada project, maybe I could help you a bit.
See you.

Yes, of course - it is able to.

Yes, now I'm focused on Armada project, but the project also Ascetic will develop further. It's too different projects and cost, and functionality, and complexity of manufacture. Each has its own niche.

  Hi c0m4r.
I started this project in 2009. I have always tried as much as possible reality using solenoid to add a little recoil in the gun, and vibration or muscle stimulation for gunshot feedback.
Because I used the MicroMT(not open source code)firmware, I didn't have access to pin configuration. So, I used "Status Led" out pin to activate the gun recoil system.  :P

Recoil module is simple, consists of an optocoupler (to isolate PIC chip), connected to a TIP122 to drive a solenoid 12V.
Here is a simple little test to illustrate.

 See you.  :D
